Kuwait’s Liberation Tower

Kuwait’s Liberation Tower is a telecommunication center and antenna tower. It is considered the second-tallest structure in the country and the fifth tallest telecommunication tower in the world. It is equipped with facilities for serving defense, national security, broadcasting, and national telephone needs. United Engineering & Technical Consultants (UNETEC) was involved in supervising the construction and furnishing of the project. Construction of the tower began before the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, but it was put on hold during the war and then was given the name Liberation Tower after the war ended, symbolizing Kuwait’s liberation. The tower features 18 elevators, six office floors spanning 12000 sqm, a revolving restaurant, and an observation platform.
